North American logistics firms expand rail-to-truck transload capabilities
The North American bulk logistics industry is seeing new technological and operational developments aimed at improving rail-to-truck transloading efficiency. Logistics startup Rebulk has launched a directory mapping over 3,350 rail-served locations across the United States and Canada. The platform utilizes AI to track facility updates, mergers and acquisitions, and operational statuses to help shippers and carriers identify underserved regions and bridge geographic gaps in the supply chain.
Simultaneously, OmniTRAX has introduced ‘OmniTRAX Connect’, an expanded transload platform designed to increase rail access for shippers facing rising trucking freight rates and driver shortages. The initiative aims to provide cost-efficient solutions to support industrial growth and onshoring activities by facilitating easier market entry and expanded capacity through the OmniTRAX rail network.
