North American LPG and LNG Export Projects Advance in Canada and U.S

The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada is reviewing the Trigon Pacific LPG Project on Ridley Island near Prince Rupert. The proposal would store up to 158,000 cubic metres of propane and butane, unload them from up to 20 rail stations and load the product onto ships for export. Public and First Nations consultations will focus on marine safety, emergency preparedness, environmental effects on fisheries and coastal habitats, and social‑economic impacts.

In the United States, Delfin Midstream announced a $5 billion final investment decision for the first of three planned floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessels off the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. The unit, designed by Black & Veatch and to be built by Samsung Heavy Industries, will have a capacity of 4.4 million tonnes per year and is expected to begin LNG deliveries in 2030, making it the world’s largest floating liquefaction facility.
