North American metalforming sentiment improves in August

The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) reported a marked improvement in North American sentiment for the metalforming sector in August. According to the August Business Conditions Report, 49% of respondents expect incoming orders to rise over the next three months, a significant increase from 34% in July.

General economic expectations also trended upward, with 33% of companies forecasting strengthened activity in the coming quarter, compared to 24% in the previous month. While some headwinds persist, such as longer lead times reported by 28% of respondents, hiring remains stable with 48% of companies expanding their workforce.
