North American students and researchers engage in extended study in Israel
Individuals from North America are engaging in extended periods of religious and academic study in Israel.
Daniel Friedman, a student from Toronto, completed a gap year at Aish Jerusalem. During his time there, he transitioned from viewing yeshiva as a place for rule-following to a platform for questioning and learning. He also utilized digital media, including Instagram and YouTube, to share his experiences with a global audience.
Additionally, a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow has relocated to Israel to conduct research at Hebrew University. The researcher, part of the Zuckier family, intends to document their year-long experience living in the country through a weekly column.
