North Capital Forum focuses on North American economic integration

At the North Capital Forum, leaders discussed strengthening economic integration and supply chain resilience across Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Officials emphasized that North American competitiveness relies on solid cooperation, modern infrastructure, and a skilled workforce to adapt to technological and economic shifts.

Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas highlighted the state's competitive advantages for investment, noting that his administration focuses on creating conditions such as security, the rule of law, and labor peace to attract the private sector. The forum included representatives from major corporations including General Motors, Bombardier, and Siemens.

Trade data underscored the deep interdependence of the region. Mexico remains the primary trading partner of the United States, with an exchange nearing $873 billion. Approximately 83 percent of Mexican exports are destined for the U.S., and roughly 40 percent of the value of products sold to the U.S. consists of components produced on American soil. Additionally, bilateral trade with Canada exceeded $30.7 billion last year, with significant Canadian investment in Mexico's mining, energy, and automotive sectors.
