North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival attracts thousands to Cary
The North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival, held at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, attracts approximately 100,000 visitors annually. The event features LED lantern displays, many of which are hand-made in Zigong, China.
To facilitate the festival, 25 Chinese artisans from the Chicago-based Tianyu Arts & Culture hand-assemble the lanterns and perform traditional Chinese acrobatic shows. Since its inception in 2015, the festival has served as a cultural showcase in the Research Triangle region.
