Following a weather delay, the Tar Heels' performance declined significantly. In the final eight minutes of play, Clemson outgained North Carolina 111-36 yards. The loss was marked by missed offensive opportunities, including a failed second-and-goal attempt at the Clemson 8-yard line, and defensive lapses that allowed Clemson to score two touchdowns in a four-minute span during the fourth quarter.

Running back Benjamin Hall noted the team's need to improve their ability to finish games, while the defense, which held Clemson to just 31 total yards in the first quarter, struggled to contain the Tigers' late-game drives.
