North Carolina reports no net job growth in July
North Carolina reported no net job growth in July, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Employers in the state reported 3,000 fewer people on the payroll in July compared to May.
In contrast to the employment data, businesses in the Raleigh Triangle area saw a boost during the Labor Day weekend. Cooler temperatures and local events, such as the African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County, helped drive foot traffic to seasonal and downtown businesses after a period of extreme heat had previously deterred customers.
