North Carolina universities expand community college transfer pathways
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) has expanded its Eagle Connect transfer program to include eight community colleges: Alamance, Brunswick, Catawba Valley, Central Carolina, Nash, Pitt, Robeson, and Vance-Granville. Under these new agreements, students at participating colleges receive guaranteed admission to NCCU, a waived $50 application fee, and assistance with course selection and early registration. Students may also be eligible for transfer scholarships and early access to campus resources, including libraries and career fairs.
Separately, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) have formalized a memorandum of understanding to guarantee direct admission for GTCC students who complete an eligible associate degree with a required GPA. This program aims to simplify credit transfers, allow for transcript sharing, and provide personalized academic advising to assist students in transitioning to UNCG.
