North Dakota and Minnesota weather forecast predicts midweek rain

Weather forecasts for North Dakota and northwest Minnesota indicate a period of variable conditions through the end of the week.

In western and central North Dakota, including areas near Crosby and Williston, sunny conditions are expected early in the week with highs in the 60s and 70s. Wind gusts may reach up to 35 mph on Tuesday. A 50 percent chance of showers is possible in Williston on Wednesday, while Friday may see a slight chance of evening showers.

In eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota, including Grand Forks, Tuesday will remain mostly sunny and dry. However, rain and possible thunderstorms are expected to arrive late Wednesday afternoon and continue through Wednesday night. A second system is forecasted to bring likely showers from late Friday into Saturday, with thunderstorms also possible during that period.
