North Defence expands manufacturing capacity in UK

Military vehicle specialist North Defence has opened a new production hub in Elland, near Huddersfield, doubling its production space to 50,000 square feet. The facility, located on the Rosemount Estate, includes production bays, a design and engineering hub, and a ten-tonne crane, with the goal of quadrupling the company’s manufacturing capacity.

Additionally, North Defence has formed a joint venture named North Strong Defence Limited with Strongs Plastic Products. Based in Tamworth, the venture aims to manufacture composite vehicle bodies to support the British Army’s Land Mobility Vehicle competition. The partnership combines North Defence’s light mobility expertise with Strongs’ polymer engineering to produce co-polymer vehicle bodies intended to enhance platform performance and survivability.
