North Kalimantan achieves high integrity score and pushes MSME industrial integration

The North Kalimantan provincial government has achieved a significant score of 73.14 in the 2025 Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI) conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This result ranks the province seventh out of 38 provinces in Indonesia and marks it as the highest-scoring province on Kalimantan island. Additionally, the province reached an 81.7 percent fulfillment rate for the KPK's 2025 national action plan for corruption prevention coordination.

In a separate economic initiative, Governor Zainal A Paliwang has called for large corporations to integrate local micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) into their industrial supply chains. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the provincial government and two major companies, PT Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia (KIPI) and PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN). The goal is to ensure that local businesses benefit from the development of the Tanah Kuning Industrial Zone, a national strategic project, by moving them from spectators to active participants in the industrial supply chain.
