North Kalimantan officials inspect school projects on Sebatik Island
North Kalimantan Vice Governor Ingkong Ala conducted inspections of three different school and facility projects on Sebatik Island to monitor progress and budget utilization. The visits covered locations from Sebatik Tengah to Sebatik Barat.
At SMAN 1 Sebatik Tengah, the inspection focused on the construction of new classrooms, a school health unit, and counseling rooms funded by the General Allocation Fund (DAU). At SMKN 1 Sebatik Barat, officials reviewed school revitalization projects supported by the State Budget (APBN). Additionally, land preparation for the rehabilitation of the Saint Joseph Catholic Church, funded by Regional Original Income (PAD), was inspected.
Due to the use of three distinct funding sources, the Vice Governor noted that supervision cannot be uniform. He emphasized that improving infrastructure in border areas is a priority to ensure residents have equal educational opportunities. During the visit, he also addressed students regarding discipline, ethics, and the importance of avoiding bullying and fighting.
