North Korea says it shares Russia's strategic outlook

North Korea’s foreign minister Choe Son-hui told reporters on 31 May that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Russia have a “shared view on all strategic issues.” She made the comments at a ceremony in the Russian embassy in Pyongyang marking the unveiling of a memorial plaque for the late Russian ambassador Alexander Matsegora, who served more than a decade in the DPRK and died suddenly in December at age 70. Choe said the two countries’ relations are based on “friendship and trust” and that cooperation will be deepened in line with agreements reached by the top leadership of both nations.

The statement underscores a commitment by Pyongyang to further strengthen its bilateral partnership with Moscow and highlights ongoing diplomatic alignment between the two states.
