North Korea’s nuclear status declared irreversible by Kim Yo Jong

Kim Yo Jong, the sister of leader Kim Jong Un, said North Korea’s status as a nuclear‑armed state is “absolutely irreversible” and that the regime will not abandon its nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

She warned that the country will not tolerate any threats to its sovereignty and emphasized a continued expansion of its nuclear arsenal, noting an “exponential” increase in missile deployments along its front lines. The remarks follow earlier statements by Kim Jong Un that production capacity has more than doubled in the past five years.

The comments come ahead of a scheduled visit to Pyongyang by Chinese President Xi Jinping, highlighting the diplomatic backdrop to the heightened rhetoric.
