North Kynouria: Book on Christian architectural heritage presented

Priest Georgios Petris presented his new book, ‘Architectural Members and Reliefs in Christian Monuments of North Kynouria’, during a cultural event in Agios Andreas on August 24. The presentation was part of the Municipality of North Kynouria’s ‘Cultural Summer 2026’ program.

The event drew a significant crowd, including Metropolitan Epiphanios of Mantineia and Kynouria, local MP Vangelis Giannakouras, and Mayor Giorgos Kampylis. Academic and historical experts, including archaeologist Arvaniti Smaragdi and archaeology professor Faklaris, discussed the scientific and cultural value of the work.

Petris detailed the extensive research required to document the architectural elements and reliefs preserved in the region. Local officials emphasized that the publication serves as a vital record of the area's religious and historical identity for future generations.
