North Macedonia and Albania advance climate and UN diplomatic goals

North Macedonia and Germany are working to deepen cooperation regarding climate policies, nature protection, and the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. Muhamed Hoxha, the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, met with Bettina Hagedorn, Germany's State Secretary for the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection, during a ministerial meeting in Montenegro.

Separately, Albania is participating in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha emphasized Albania's commitment to reforms and progress amidst global geopolitical uncertainty. Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted that the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030) are inseparable from Albania's path toward European Union integration, aiming for the conclusion of membership negotiations by 2027 and full EU membership by 2030.
