North Macedonia and Greece hold bilateral exercise on financial crime
North Macedonia and Greece conducted a bilateral exercise focused on mutual legal assistance regarding financial crime. The initiative was organized with support from the OSCE Mission to Skopje.
Aleksandar Janev, Director of the Bureau for Public Security, emphasized the necessity of strengthened institutional cooperation to combat cross-border criminal activities. The exercise aimed to improve practical collaboration between the two countries through the exchange of experiences, information, and best practices for handling financial crime cases.
Janev noted that because criminal networks and financial flows often span multiple states, institutions must respond through coordinated actions, including direct information exchange, financial investigations, and the monitoring of suspicious transactions.
