North Macedonia Assembly approves 600-euro minimum wage

The North Macedonian Assembly has voted to increase the minimum wage to 600 euros following a proposal by the SDSM party. According to SDSM spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzeska, only SDSM and its coalition members voted in favor of the measure.

Kuzeska criticized the Levica party for failing to participate in the vote, noting that their representatives were absent from the hall. She highlighted the contradiction between Levica’s political program, which claims to prioritize workers' rights and higher wages, and their decision not to support the 600-euro minimum wage law.

Furthermore, Kuzeska stated that opposition parties including VMRO-DPMNE, ZNAM, and VLN also did not vote in favor, and noted the absence of DUI representatives. She characterized Levica as a party with anti-EU, anti-NATO, and anti-American stances, questioning their role in a government aiming for European integration.
