North Macedonia customs blocked 246 illegal migrants since July 2024

The Customs Administration of North Macedonia has prevented the entry of 246 illegal migrants since July 2024. According to Director Boban Nikolovski, the individuals were primarily from Egypt, Sudan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and Syria.

During an operational meeting of a joint migration task force, Nikolovski highlighted that the administration has also intensified efforts against organized crime. He noted that customs mobile teams and K9 units assisted in 41 operations conducted by the Ministry of Interior this year.

Nikolovski emphasized that improved information exchange and inter-institutional cooperation at both national and international levels are essential for identifying risks before they reach the border. He stated that these actions contribute to the security of both North Macedonia and European Union borders.
