North Macedonia customs officials find 12 illegal migrants

Customs officers in North Macedonia discovered 12 illegal migrants in two separate incidents within a single day. The individuals were identified as being from Egypt and Sudan.

In the first instance, customs officials at a terminal in Tetovo suspected the presence of migrants in a truck before conducting a full inspection. Upon calling for assistance from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, five illegal migrants were found in the cargo area.

In a second incident occurring just two hours later at the Skopje customs terminal, officials discovered seven additional illegal migrants during a routine inspection of imported goods. All migrants involved have been handed over to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for processing.
