North Macedonia reports 1.4 billion euros in foreign investment

North Macedonia is experiencing significant economic growth, driven by strong performance in investments, exports, and construction. In the second quarter of 2026, gross investments rose by 16.5 percent, while exports of goods and services increased by 10.4 percent. The construction sector showed a notable growth of 21.9 percent.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski reported that foreign direct investment has reached approximately 1.4 billion euros over the past 24 to 25 months. He contrasted this with the previous administration, which saw roughly 750 million euros in foreign investment during a similar period. Mickoski emphasized that the government remains focused on attracting both domestic and foreign investors to ensure sustainable economic development.

Recent developments include the opening of a new production plant for the WIK factory in the Prilep Technological Industrial Development Zone and the commencement of a 500 million dollar investment project, which includes a wind farm spanning the municipalities of Radovish, Stip, and Karbinci.
