North Macedonia experiences two earthquakes near Ohrid and Gostivar

Two earthquakes were recorded in North Macedonia within a 22-hour period. The first tremor occurred in the Ohrid region on August 14 at 18:08, with a local magnitude of 2.0 and a depth of approximately 15 kilometers.

The second earthquake was registered on August 15 at 16:10 in the Polog region near Gostivar. This tremor had a magnitude of 2.5 and was significantly shallower, occurring at a depth of approximately three kilometers. The epicenter was located about eight kilometers northwest of Gostivar.

There are currently no reports of injuries or material damage resulting from either seismic event.
