North Macedonia featured as guest of honor at Abu Dhabi Book Fair

North Macedonia is participating as the guest of honor and partner at the 35th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in the United Arab Emirates. A delegation from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, led by State Secretary Besa Oda Murtuza, attended the opening of the event.

As part of the ‘Balkan Culture – Guest of Honor’ program, the national stand features original manuscripts from the ‘Orientalistica’ collection of the National University Library ‘St. Clement of Ohrid’ in Skopje, including manuscripts over 600 years old. The exhibition also includes artifacts from the Archaeological Museum of North Macedonia, contemporary Macedonian literature, and translations from Arabic to Macedonian.

The participation aims to promote the country's cultural heritage and contemporary literary production while establishing new professional partnerships and opening Macedonian culture to new international markets. The fair's program includes literary discussions, panel debates, and artistic performances designed to showcase the linguistic and cultural diversity of the Balkans.
