North Macedonia Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska Presents 2026 Budget Rebalance for Capital Investment

Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska‑Kochoska explained that the 2026 budget rebalance is a development‑oriented measure, not a reaction to fiscal problems. The reallocation secures stable public finances while directing additional resources to capital projects such as roads, railways, energy, education, health and municipal infrastructure. It also ensures regular payment of salaries, pensions and social benefits.

The minister highlighted that the rebalance responds to heightened global market uncertainty, geopolitical risks and rising energy prices, and includes extra funding for agriculture, social protection, local development and specific support programmes such as aid for women farmers. The overall aim is to boost economic activity, create jobs and raise living standards.
