North Macedonia Foreign Trade Minister Timco Mucunski Defends EU Accession Negotiations

Timco Mucunski, North Macedonia’s minister of foreign affairs and trade, reacted sharply on Facebook to former foreign minister Bujar Osmani, saying Osmani is “the last person with the right to give lectures” about what has been accepted in the EU accession talks. Mucunski accused Osmani of distorting facts and urged him to stop criticizing the government’s stance.

Later, Mucunski met with Spain’s state secretary for the EU, Fernando Mariano Sampedro Marcos, to discuss the country’s EU integration. He thanked Spain for its ongoing support and emphasized that the accession process must remain merit‑based, predictable and equal for all candidates, aiming for full EU membership while advancing practical steps of gradual integration.
