North Macedonia forms commission to investigate paralysis after cesarean section
North Macedonian Health Minister Sasho Klekovski has established a professional oversight commission to investigate a case in Stip involving a woman who was left paralyzed following a second cesarean section. To ensure transparency and institutional trust, the commission will include two foreign experts.
The medical team consists of a gynecologist as chair, an anesthesiologist from Belgrade, a neurologist from Ljubljana, a neurosurgeon from Ohrid, and a radiologist from Skopje. The commission is currently reviewing medical documentation provided by the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate, which reported no initial omissions in the paperwork.
A final conclusion is expected by the end of the month, pending the availability of the experts and a potential meeting involving the patient.
