North Macedonia grape harvest exceeds 54 million kilograms

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Borče Serafimovski announced that the grape harvest and procurement process in North Macedonia is proceeding smoothly. During a visit to procurement sites in Kavadarci, the minister dismissed claims of difficulties or political interference in the collection of Vranec grapes, stating such claims do not reflect the facts on the ground.

According to current data, 14 wineries across 19 procurement locations have processed over 35 million kilograms of grapes. This includes approximately 15 million kilograms of red varieties and over 20 million kilograms of white varieties. Additionally, wineries have processed over 7 million kilograms from their own vineyards, and family wineries have processed 1.5 million kilograms.

In total, over 43.5 million kilograms have been processed domestically, while more than 10.5 million kilograms of wine and table grapes have already been exported. When combining domestic processing with exports, the total amount harvested from vineyards exceeds 54 million kilograms. The State Inspectorate for Agriculture is conducting daily inspections at procurement sites to monitor measurements, classification, and documentation.
