German Defence Chief Visits North Macedonia to Boost NATO Cooperation

German Armed Forces Chief General Karsten Brojër made a two‑day official visit to North Macedonia. He met with Macedonian Army Chief General‑Major Sashko Lafchiski, Defence Minister Vlado Misajlovski, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and President Gordana Siljanovska‑Davkova. The talks reaffirmed the long‑standing bilateral defence partnership, covering joint training, modernisation, equipment exchange and NATO‑aligned regional security. Both sides highlighted Macedonia’s role as a “significant factor of stability in South‑East Europe” and pledged to deepen cooperation within NATO structures.

The visit also coincided with the conclusion of the SEEBRIG mission in Macedonia, underscoring the country’s contribution to regional peace and collective defence. Officials stressed the importance of continued collaboration for stability in the Balkans and broader Euro‑Atlantic security.
