North Macedonia has transposed over 45% of EU law

North Macedonia has successfully transposed more than 45% of European Union law into its domestic legal system, according to Deputy Minister for European Affairs Victoria Trajkov. Speaking at a TAIEX-organized workshop focused on legislative alignment, Trajkov described EU membership as an unambiguous strategic decision with broad social support.

The integration process is viewed as a transformative effort aimed at strengthening institutions and providing benefits to citizens and businesses through domestic reforms. Trajkov noted that the approximation process began with key acts related to the internal market and has since expanded to all other areas.

Beyond legal changes, the alignment has resulted in stronger political connections, particularly in foreign and security policy, increased trade cooperation, and improved infrastructure. The Deputy Minister emphasized that proper transposition is essential for the effective implementation of legislation according to European standards.
