North Macedonia holiday calendar offers several long weekends

Citizens in North Macedonia can look forward to several upcoming public holidays and opportunities for extended weekends through the end of 2026.

Following September 8, which marks the Independence Day of the Republic of Macedonia, a four-day break is possible if Monday, September 7, is taken as a day off. This would create a continuous holiday period from Saturday, September 5, through Tuesday, September 8.

October is expected to be a particularly favorable month for short breaks, featuring two extended weekends. These include the holiday for the Day of the People's Uprising on Monday, October 12, and the Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle on Friday, October 23. The final public holiday for all citizens in 2026 falls on Tuesday, December 8, celebrating St. Clement of Ohrid. Additionally, Catholic citizens observe holidays on November 1 and December 25.
