North Macedonia hosts media education and AI in education initiatives

North Macedonia is conducting several initiatives focused on digital literacy, artificial intelligence, and media education. At the University of Tetova, the Pedagogical Faculty has launched the 2026 Special Study Week. The event, held from October 26 to 30, focuses on the theme of artificial intelligence and digitalization in education, exploring both the opportunities and challenges these technologies present to the learning process.

Simultaneously, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services is organizing Media Education Days from October 26 to November 2. This initiative marks the eighth time the country has joined UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week. Under the motto “We all have our role,” the program aims to develop critical thinking and combat disinformation. Activities, including workshops and conferences, are scheduled to take place in Skopje, Gostivar, Strumica, Manastir, Veles, Struga, and Tetovo.
