North Macedonia injects 239 million euros into economy via Hungarian loan
North Macedonian Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kocoska has stated that the funds secured through the Hungarian Export-Import Bank represent an investment in economic growth rather than a budget expense.
Out of a planned 250 million euros intended for development investments in the domestic private sector, 239 million euros have been injected into the Macedonian economy to date. The program, which began with its first tranche in March of last year, aims to stimulate investment cycles, increase production, create jobs, and enhance the competitiveness of local companies.
According to the Minister, the measure has seen significant interest from the business sector. Corporate lending has experienced an average annual growth of approximately 15 percent during the implementation period, with growth rates ranging between 13.5 and 16.5 percent from March last year through June this year.
