North Macedonia economic growth and EU reform progress
North Macedonia is seeing significant economic and political developments regarding its integration with the European Union. Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski stated that the country is a leader in implementing the EU Growth Plan reforms for the Western Balkans. He noted that a new tranche of 75 million euros is expected in November, which would bring total funds received based on reforms to over 225 million euros.
In a separate economic update, the political party VLEN reported that the IMF and World Bank have raised their economic growth forecasts for North Macedonia to 3.5% and 3.2%, respectively. This growth is attributed to ongoing infrastructure investments, including the Skopje–Blace highway and various segments of Corridor 8.
On the diplomatic front, Foreign Minister Timčo Mucunski addressed the World Economic Forum in Dubai, emphasizing the need for global trade systems to adapt to 21st-century realities through connectivity and resilience. Additionally, Speaker of the Parliament Afrim Gashi attended a conference in Rome, advocating for strong institutions and the rule of international law to maintain global stability.
