North Macedonia Ministry of Transport to remediate Teferic road landslide

The Ministry of Transport and Communications has taken responsibility for remediating a landslide on the road to Teferic in the Kisela Voda municipality. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski stated that the project was assumed by the Ministry due to the technical complexity of the soil movement, which he noted is similar to issues previously encountered on the Kicevo highway.

A tender process to select a contractor is currently underway and is expected to conclude around August 20. Once a contractor is chosen, work will begin involving experts from the Ministry and the Public Enterprise for State Roads. Nikoloski estimated that the remediation process should take approximately one year, though he noted that weather conditions, particularly winter, will significantly influence the project's timeline as dry terrain is required for much of the work.
