OKTA introduces 2 denar per liter diesel discount in North Macedonia
The oil company OKTA has announced a temporary discount of 2 denars per liter for diesel fuel in North Macedonia, effective from October 20, 2026, until November 2, 2026. This measure is a response to recent volatility in international fuel markets.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski confirmed that the government has been negotiating with OKTA to secure these additional discounts to protect the living standards of citizens. He noted that North Macedonia currently maintains some of the lowest fuel prices in Europe due to lower tax burdens on diesel and unleaded gasoline.
According to OKTA, this initiative is part of a series of support measures implemented since March 2026, with the total value of support provided to the domestic market expected to reach approximately 8 million euros. While OKTA provides the discount to wholesalers and retailers, final retail prices will be determined by market participants based on their commercial policies.
