Sedat Sulejmani opens 2027 cultural project funding applications

Sedat Sulejmani, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, has announced the opening of the electronic application system for the 2027 annual competitions for funding projects of national interest. The application period is set to remain open until October 30, 2026, at 15:30.

Sulejmani described culture as a “strategic investment in creative potential and the sustainable development of society.” The funding aims to support high-quality, innovative, and sustainable projects that enrich the cultural landscape, foster new creative expressions, and increase the regional and international visibility of Macedonian culture.

Key priorities for the selection process include projects capable of long-term cultural contribution through institutional cooperation, regional outreach, and international affirmation. Special attention will be given to projects implemented in border areas to ensure cultural content is accessible in diverse environments and contributes to the development of local communities. Applications must be submitted electronically via the official government portal, as paper or postal submissions will not be considered.
