North Macedonia: Organ donation saves two lives

A family's decision to donate organs has resulted in the successful transplantation and saved lives of two patients in North Macedonia. The Ministry of Health announced that the consent was provided by the family during a period of profound loss last month.

Health Minister Sašo Klekovski praised the act as a gesture of deep humanity, noting that every donation provides a second chance for those waiting for transplants. National Transplantation Coordinator Prof. Dr. Biljana Kuzmanovska also highlighted the courage behind such decisions, stating that while medical teams facilitate the process, the decision of the family makes the miracle of new life possible.

The announcement comes ahead of August 13, World Organ Donation Day, as part of a global initiative to raise awareness regarding the importance of organ donation.
