North Macedonia outlines strategic diplomatic and economic priorities

North Macedonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, has outlined three strategic national priorities during the Ambassadorial Council meeting in Skopje: the protection of national interests, the advancement of economic diplomacy, and the protection of citizens living abroad.

During the session, which includes Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Mucunski emphasized the importance of utilizing diplomatic and consular missions to stimulate trade and exports. While the European Union remains the country's most significant economic partner, Mucunski highlighted efforts to strengthen trade relations with the United States, India, and the Arab Gulf countries.

The Minister also addressed the need to modernize consular services to better support the Macedonian diaspora and citizens traveling abroad. This meeting marks the first gathering of active heads of diplomatic and consular missions in Skopje since 2019, with plans to make it a regular annual event.
