North Macedonia parliament tackles diaspora voting amendments and cabinet reshuffle

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said the coalition of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (LSDM) with the “Left” submitted about 13,000 amendments intended to obstruct electronic voting for Macedonian citizens abroad. He accused the opposition of trying to prevent diaspora participation in upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

The Assembly scheduled a session for 13‑14 July to vote on a new cabinet, replacing eight ministers and several deputy ministers. New portfolios will be filled in Justice, Community Relations, Local Self‑Government, Social Policy, Demography and Youth, and Culture and Tourism. The post of deputy minister for Good Governance will be eliminated, to be replaced by a secretary, whose name has not yet been announced. Mickoski declined to comment on the possible appointment of Dimitar Dimovski, who faces a court case.
