North Macedonia pension adjustment to begin September 1
A new legal adjustment of pensions in North Macedonia is set to begin on September 1. This process is based on the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, which mandates adjustments based on the movement of the cost of living and the growth of average net salaries.
While the adjustment process starts in early September, the increased amounts are expected to be paid to pensioners on October 1. The exact percentage has not yet been officially announced, though Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth Djoko Velkovski indicated that the final figure could range between 3% and 3.5%.
The State Statistical Office has already released data regarding inflation and wage movements for the first half of the year, providing the necessary basis for the calculation. Experts note that this adjustment is a legally established mechanism rather than a political decision, designed to align pensions with economic shifts.
