North Macedonia police conduct inspections of 66 venues and casinos

North Macedonian police and various inspection services conducted a large-scale operation on October 17 and 18, inspecting 66 hospitality venues and casinos across the country. The operation, led by the Criminal Police Department, uncovered numerous irregularities including the illegal organization of gambling in Kičevo, where two individuals were detained and items were seized.

Authorities reported several violations involving minors, including four minors found in a venue after midnight and two instances of alcohol being served to minors. Other findings included unlicensed security personnel, public order disturbances, and three foreign nationals detained for unregulated stays. In the Prilep region, a driver was arrested after testing positive for 2.04 per mille alcohol in their blood.

Coordinated efforts with the State Market Inspection, Public Revenue Office, and other agencies identified further issues such as unregistered activities, failure to issue fiscal receipts, undeclared workers, foreign currency transactions, and deficiencies in hygiene and fire safety standards.
