North Macedonia police detain 12 drivers for reckless driving

North Macedonian police have detained 12 drivers over a 24-hour period across various locations in the country for suspected reckless driving under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.

A significant portion of those detained were operating vehicles without a valid driver's license, including minors aged 15, 16, and 17. Other violations recorded by authorities included driving under the influence of alcohol and operating vehicles while under an active driving ban.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that criminal charges will be filed against the individuals following full documentation of the cases. Authorities have issued an appeal to all road users to respect traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.
