Macedonia Mickoski government reshuffle coalition negotiations fuel prices

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said a government reshuffle will be announced next week after the ruling coalition’s executive committee meets. Negotiations with partners ZNAM, VLEN and VMRO‑DPMNE continue over key ministries, including Justice, Agriculture, Health, Culture and the Ministry for Ethnic Communities. The ZNAM party is holding onto the Justice portfolio, while other parties vie for Agriculture and other posts.

Mickoski also warned that the rule of law remains weak, accusing the justice system of being a “market” and demanding a full clarification of past irregularities. Opposition leader Venko Filipçe criticised Mickoski’s rhetoric as authoritarian, saying the prime minister uses insults and threats in parliamentary sessions.

In a separate statement, Mickoski highlighted that Macedonia now has the lowest fuel‑price derivatives in the region, citing comparative figures for diesel and gasoline in neighboring countries.
