North Macedonia probes online hate‑speech channels over Bulgaria tensions

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Agency for National Security of North Macedonia have launched investigations into around twenty communication outlets, including web portals and Facebook and Instagram pages. Authorities suspect the platforms are being used to spread hate speech and stir tensions related to the bilateral relationship with Bulgaria. The probe was confirmed by the Macedonian interior ministry and reported by local media. Officials have not yet clarified whether the television station Channel 5, previously cited as a major conduit of such rhetoric, will also be investigated.
