North Macedonia registers first foreign lobbyist from Austria

The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (DKSK) in North Macedonia has officially registered the country’s first foreign lobbyist, an individual from Austria. Following a review of the application and verification of legal requirements, the individual was added to the Register of Lobbyists, Lobby Organizations, and Lobbying.

The registered lobbyist will operate across various sectors, including healthcare, food safety, labor and social policy, economy, energy, environment, transport, telecommunications, and finance, among others.

Currently, the DKSK register includes three lobby organizations and two lobbyists, now joined by this foreign individual. This development occurs as a working group has finalized amendments to the Lobbying Law, which are expected to be processed by the government and potentially adopted by the end of the year. These amendments aim to strengthen the DKSK’s supervisory role over the bodies being lobbied.
