North Macedonia launches campaign to prevent domestic violence against children

The Ministry of Education and Science of North Macedonia and Sparkasse Bank Skopje have launched a joint national educational campaign aimed at preventing domestic violence against children and adolescents. The initiative seeks to increase public awareness, encourage early recognition of abuse, and emphasize collective responsibility in protecting young people.

This campaign comes amid reports of various domestic violence incidents across the country. In Skopje, Kriva Palanka, and Berovo, police documented multiple cases involving physical attacks, threats, and psychological maltreatment. Reported victims included spouses, a 12-year-old girl, and elderly individuals aged 80 and 82.

In separate criminal reports from the Stara Zagora region in Bulgaria, authorities recorded instances of domestic violence, theft, and an assault on a police officer at a hospital in Kazanlak.
