North Macedonia rises 29 places in Global Cyber Security Index

North Macedonia has made a significant advancement in cybersecurity, rising 29 positions to reach 30th place out of 155 ranked countries and territories in the latest National Cyber Security Index (NCSI). The country achieved a score of 84.17 out of 100, placing it among nations with a high level of preparedness for preventing cyber threats and managing cyber incidents.

Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski stated that the jump serves as international confirmation of recent reforms, including the establishment of clearer institutional responsibility, a modern legal framework, and stronger mechanisms for protecting critical infrastructure.

The index, developed by the Estonian-based e-Governance Academy, evaluates national readiness through 49 indicators across 12 areas. North Macedonia received maximum scores in several key fields, including cybersecurity policies, protection of critical information infrastructure, education and professional development, personal data protection, cyber incident response, and combating computer crime.
