North Macedonia seeks 85 Roma educational mediators
The Ministry of Education and Science (MON) in North Macedonia has issued a public call to engage 85 Roma educational mediators for the upcoming school year. The initiative seeks to hire 50 mediators for primary schools and 35 for secondary schools to support Roma students from socially disadvantaged families or those who have been outside the educational system for extended periods.
The role of these mediators includes improving awareness regarding school access, conducting sensitization meetings for staff and the community, and collaborating with teachers to reduce dropout rates. The primary schools targeted include municipalities such as Shuto Orizari, Karposh, Chair, Tetovo, Gostivar, Bitola, and several others across the country. Secondary school positions will be available in cities including Skopje, Tetovo, Gostivar, and Bitola.
Candidates must be citizens of North Macedonia, members of the Roma ethnic community, and either unemployed or working part-time. Selected mediators will receive a monthly honorarium of 20,000 denars for a period spanning parts of 2026 and 2027. The deadline for applications is October 7.
