North Macedonia signs National Decent Work Program 2026–2030
The Government of North Macedonia, employer organizations, trade unions, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) have signed the National Decent Work Program for the 2026–2030 period. The initiative aims to foster inclusive economic growth, create high-quality and productive jobs, and strengthen labor market institutions.
Key priorities of the program include advancing workers' rights, developing skills aligned with market needs, increasing the participation of youth and women in the workforce, and reducing the informal economy. The program is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2026–2030 and supports the country's European integration goals.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated that the program addresses critical societal challenges, such as the mass emigration of young people and the shortage of skilled labor. Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi noted that the program's success will be measured by tangible improvements experienced by both workers and companies.
